- Çanakkale 2 nights
One day for Troy, one for the Gallipoli peninsula. If you want Gökçeada too, ferries leave from Kabatepe on the peninsula, so add at least two nights.
- Bozcaada 2 nights
The castle, the old Greek quarter and the beaches on the west coast. Sunset at Polente lighthouse is the island's classic evening.
- Assos (Behramkale) 2 nights
The view over the gulf from the Temple of Athena and the small harbour below. The nearby villages of Babakale and Adatepe make half day trips.
Getting between cities
- Çanakkale → Bozcaada: Ferry, about 2 h, 60 km
Go by bus or car to the Geyikli pier, then take the ferry across. Sailings are frequent in summer and fewer in winter.
- Bozcaada → Assos (Behramkale): Car, about 2 h, 90 km
Take the ferry back to Geyikli and drive via Ezine and Ayvacık. Without a car it means changing minibuses.

When to go
May, June and September are the nicest months. The grape harvest on Bozcaada starts at the end of August.
